How to Measure
The generic size charts below provide useful measurement reference. Since sizes vary greatly across different brands and styles, be sure to visit the brand specific size charts to find your best match.
Height
No shoes, feet together flat on the floor, measure from the top of the head to the ground.
Neck
Measure the child's collar where the shirt would naturally sit. Always allow a little room in the collar for growth
Chest
Measure the chest under the child's arms at the fullest part of the chest. The measurement is given on the circumference.
Waist
Measure around the child’s natural waistline. The measurement is given on the circumference.
Hips
Measure at the fullest part around the bottom.
Inseam / Inside Leg
With no shoes on, measure from the top of his inner thigh down to the floor.
Foot Length
Put a piece of paper on the ground. Stand barefoot on the paper. Draw outline of foot with a pen. Use measuring tape to measure length of foot on the paper.

How to measure without a ruler or tape measure?
If you don't have a ruler or tape measure handy, you can try to measure with a standard credit card, which has a width of 3 ⅜ inch or 8.56 cm and a height of 2 ⅛ inch or 5.4 cm.
